Anonymous said...: If you know Rings Rules, he did not beat Fedor. In Rings, you don't get points for takedowns and you can't punch with open fists or ground and pound (hence the slapping, etc.). But in Rings, you get points for submission attempts. So, Fedor played a smart game against Arona and won based on the judges scoring. When you watch the fight with no knowledge of Rings rules, it appears that Arona 'may' have won the fight, but he was behind on the scoring and Fedor knew it. With those restrictions, neither could play their normal games. Arona did prove his strength in that battle though.; November 27, 2008 4:23 AM
