excellent fights

This WEC event was better than any UFC event ive seen in a while

man, i was rooting for miura too, classic asian underdog guy with tons of heart

miura is a warrior, i wanted him to win as well, i think his cardio at the end was what let him down more than anythin else, props to condit though, miuras trips and sweeps where sweet!!!!

Best WEC event yer, lived up to the hype. But did anyone else notice how the ref in the Condit vs Hiro bout was in Condits favor? He would constantly pressure Hiro by telling him to advance position while being in Condits closed guard, he really wasn't doing damage but the referee would warn him "advance position" right off the bat, not even giving him a few minutes to catch his breath or regroup.

not fucking bad!

Yeah I noticed the pressure the referee gave Hiro as well. Asking him to advance his position without actually giving him a chance to advance in the first place.

But none the less that was an impressive show of BJJ, Judo and pure knockout power in this event. One of the best events of the year.

Well the thing was that miura wasnt advancing his position he was just sittin in guard not trying to move and just getting held up.when condit was on the ground he just kept moving and trying to advance and the ref didi tell condit after a while to advance.great fight tho

Great event. Thanks for the post.

I have to agree with the two posters above, the ref did not appear completely even-handed in his admonishments. Miura had Condit on the brink several times. I have to wonder how those close moments would have gone had Miura had the exact same opportunities as Condit. In the closing seconds of the clip, just before the announcement of the winner the ref laughs and tells Condit that it was over after the knee. While this is was a true statement it is not in the character of dispassionate and impartial judgment. If I were Condit I would not want a re-match any time soon.

I liked Stann's speech in defeat. The guy looks like a jackass and I was cheering for him to lose for that rather shallow reason, but he's clearly a classy dude.
