HaHa "if Matt Hughes fights like he's been fighting lately, he is going to loose". Matt is mad that Alves beat him, gsp beat him, Jhon Fitch did better than him, could matt Hughes even take Josh Koscheck, Matt Serra... anyone, no. Matt Hughes is all gonies.

Where was all this media attention when GSP walked into the cage after Hughes became the first and only man to stop BJ Penn and said he "wasn't impressed with (Hughes's) performance?

And why is it a guy who is a future Hall of Famer and the most dominate Welterweight in MMA history somehow is a lesser opponent for GSP then a guy who has only ever been in one championship fight?

BJ has ducked Hughes
GSP ducked Hughes
Serra ducked Hughes.

Hughes has never ducked anyone.

I might not agree with what Hughes said or did here, but the man has earned the right to say or do whatever he wants.

Some people need to show some respect.

Matt Hughes a bum. He's too lazy to put in the training hours to actually be on par with the top dogs.
Even if GSP did say "i'm not impressed with your performance" he at least watched the whole fight. Matt Hughes is the one who needs to give respect to the guy who has proved he's on his way to being the greatest welterweight in MMA history.
Who can beat GSP at 170? Alves/Sanchez? 2 guys Jon Fitch beat fair and square? unlikely.

lol you think GSP would fight BJ Penn for #1 contender spot and then decide to duck hughes?

Since when does a contender duck a champion rofl...GSP got injured it happens, he just came back the next fight and kicked hughes ass

Correction:

Matt Hughes had the right. Now is his time to step aside.

And for the record Hughes didn't say anything disrespectful. He didn't care to watch the rest of the fight. So what, that's his prerogative. And GSP did show up to the fight too lean. He's even acknowledged that fact.

Actually his legs looked huge! GSP is the real deal. I'm looking forward to the end of the year fight with BJ Penn.

AWESOME!

MAtt Hughes is a JOKE

More washed up then any other past legend

He got ROCKED by GSP and Alves...and Serra will be the one to retire him

Hughes = UFC fighter of the 90's, blanket wrestler.

Too bad it is 2008, and wrestling alone doesn't cut it in MMA

i think anderson silva should drop to 170 and give gsp a real fight.

"you think GSP would fight BJ Penn for #1 contender spot and then decide to duck hughes?"

Not only did he duck out of the Hughes fight right after GSP beat BJ, He ducked out again when Hughes wanted a 3rd fight right after their 2nd fight. Instead GSP took on Serra because GSP thought a win over Serra would be easier then another one over Hughes. I guess GSP just forgot to train for Serra.

Either that or he just always seems to get injured when it's time to fight Matt Hughes, but no one else.

Funny how when Serra ducked Hughes, and he had his choice to fight anyone, he picked GSP. The last guy that kicked his ass. That is a real Champion.

BJ, GSP, Serra, Alves. There guys need to learn a thing or two. Ducking guys and showing up 7lbs over weight is disrespectful to the sport.

Hughes is done, and GSP is the present and the future of 170lbs (as long as Anderson doesn't drop down, which is unlikely). The sport has evolved and some of the older guys have been left behind, but that doesn't mean the newbie fans like yourself should take away from what they were.

Show some respect.

The Last comment about the GSP vs. Sylva is dead on. BJ Penn is talented but couldn't touch Anderson Sylva on his best day. Sylva is the only current fighter that comes close enough to the athleticism and discipline of GPS to make it interesting. GPS vs Sylva would be the card of the decade and that's the fight we ultimately need to see happen.
