am i the only one thing the numbers fighters are getting dont correspond to the quality they have? i mean that retarded giant getting 200k? what gives? also in affliction why is the best start fedor only getting 300k while guys like timmay (who everyone knows is a retard) getting 800k? doesnt make any sence at all..

I totally agree with the post above about the pay out. There are many fighters out there that are under paid compared to those who don't even match up to them skill wise. This is probably the very reason why Randy left the UFC in the first place. Right now its all about what the casual fan wants and not too much about the hardcore fan base.

The reason for this is because there are way more people who casualy watch MMA and are willing to pay the money to see a big name fighter rather than a person whos much more skilled but less known (i.e Fedor). I'm not saying people don't know about Fedor, but too many of those just casually watching MMA probably won't know a lot about pride and other reputable organizations.

UFC are good at hyping the public up for matches and really push certain athletes in the spot light. They want to create drama so they can get as much people as they can to watch regardless of the fighters skill level.

Although I may sound a bit negative about the way MMA is directed as being almost theatrical, the truth is MMA needs this right now. It's still a growing sport and I believe it's going to continue to stay like this. I think when MMA is able to become a sport in the olympics then we'll see a trend difference in pay to those who are truely skilled, rather than the name they carry.
