Quinton Jackson Picked Up by Police Again, Exhibiting "Unusual Behavior"

From Mike Chiapetta at NBCSports

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was admitted to a hospital on Wednesday for a mental health evaluation following an incident in which he was exhibiting "unusual behavior," Irvine, Calif., police Lt. Rick Handfield told NBCSports.com on Thursday.

This incident came on the heels of Tuesday's arrest following a car chase in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Handfield said that a passing officer was flagged down on a city street at about 4:30 pm on Wednesday, and one of the people at the residence who was an acquaintance or relative of his told police they were "concerned about some alarming statements and unusual behavior he was exhibiting."

The responding officer spoke to Jackson, who was cooperative, and officers detained him and transported him to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.

Handfield said Jackson is not being charged with any crime, and was considered a "mental health detainment."

Jackson's present status is unclear, as California's HIPAA laws guarding medical privacy preclude police from giving any further information.

UFC did not immediately return calls for comment.

What the hell is wrong with Rampage??

He's probably devastated to losing to fucking Forrest Griffin.
I mean come on, Rampage was dropping guys like Igor on their heads, while Forrest was fucking around, shaving half his head, on The Ultimate Fighter.

God bless you and good luck Rampage.

Clearly he's suffering from diabetes and nobody realizes it.

i really hope this has nothing to do with drugs.. rampage aways sounded like the toughest guy but has a person he sounded like a simple guy.. i guess the celebrety style got to him, and if this is drugs, lets all say farewell to the ex champion :( this is sad shit.

i agree something is up with him... he sounded really weird in the interview he had just before getting arrested.

Poor guy. You hear him in interviews talk about how he sleeps with the belt and now he's not the champ when everyone was counting on him to whip Griffen's ass...he even said that in his pre-fight interview (plus the betting of his whole purse on the fight NOT going to decision, which who knows if he actually kept his word on that).
For a prizefighter, losing is very hard to endure, unlike...let's say baseball, where you play over 100 games a season, in prizefighting you are only as good as your last fight.
Quinton has also confided that he went through some mental hardships and took 9 monthes off. This game is SO mental and if you lose focus for just a short time it can impact your carrer horribly.
As for the drugs...ah, if I had to make a guess its nothing too hard, just alcohol and weed. I thought he might've been a little lit-up in that recent interview RIGHT before he got arrested the first time. And you KNOW he gets the real good shit.
He'll be fine, some rest and a nice massage (no, not that kind of "massage," a real, therapeutic, no-happy-ending massage).

wow... it's gonna be awhile before rampage is back on track. At this state he would probably lose to any LHW contender...

omfg the judges weren't paid off, that was the worst performance i have ever seen from rampage probably coming from his new trainer.

dont think hes drugged up...but to be honest when i heard that firt interview with him after his crash where he was rambling onabout god and stuttering about i was thinking:

man this sounds like the beginning of a psychosis or schiziphrenia. hope he will be alright!

but if thats true then his loss could have been a "trigger"

Probably manic depression (bipolar disorder), not schizophrenia. I doubt it's alcohol or drugs either, we'd have heard about it in the police report.

Who gives a shit about his personel life, the man does what he wants.
He is still tha fighter that he is, whether he runs from the police or not.
chill out + Forrest sucks and is going down.
