Perfect example of why knees to grounded opponent and soccor kicks are a must in an MMA bout. watching that you think its brutal but its not at all this paticular loser might have a black eye the next day but is no worse for wear on the other hand you have BJ vs stevenson or more recently Kos vs Lytle which goes to show elbos are the worst part of MMA. How about trying to go for a submission instead of trying to cut your opponent or grind out a decision Kos. One day the UFC will come around.
And its no coincidence that two of the greatest minds in MMA bas rutten and Big john mccarthy feel the same exact way
You can tell a big difference in Shogun now that he's in the UFC and cannot use his famous foot stomps and soccer kicks.
He needs to show everybody that hes not just a pride standout
Well, I guess he cant fight like that no more :)
Showing off the Pride rules perfectly.. excellent. Shogun is going to rip when he comes back to the UFC. WAR Shogun!!!!!
It would be nice to see him fight Rampage again, hopefully that will be his next fight.
It's a crying shame that we're not going to see that anymore. I love seeing him jump over dudes' guard for stomps and soccer kicks. Dia Mette said it right too. Soccer kicks is just knockouts. Those elbows pretty much just cuts holes in dudes that make them bleed. That said, elbows can be a good tool when you're ground and pounding.
One thing about Pride I noticed, there's a lot less dryhumping than in the UFC. Some cards, I feel guilty for watching it, like I just wasted an afternoon on some porn site.
Peaking shogun is terrifying--he went on to win 9 straight before losing to Forrest Griffin.
Shogun won 8 straight before the elbow dislocation loss to Coleman and then won 4 straight before losing to Forrest
/jerk loves correcting people
Shogun is fun to watch but beside Rampage and Minotoro( only ones in the top 10 and before Rampage setup his game with his new training camp).
Then Kinda Arona ( beside his decision win over Wanderlei in 2005 hasnt done much lately) and kinda Alistair Overeem ( he has beating anyone of note for awhile either) his last few fights. a lot of his wins are over Japanese fighters with high lost records.
I think he is fun to watch and I hope he comes back and kills. but he needs start fighting more top 10 fighters before I agree his is a top 3 in the world fighter.
