I pick Silva in this fight to, but seriously dude, get a clue. Have you not watched MMA the past two years? Everyone is dangerous and anyone on any given night can win- they are no easy fights anymore. One good punch, one good kick, or one small mistake on the ground and it's over.
Nah, I don't believe Silva is invincible, but I'd give him a 99% chance of winning this fight based on MY FOLLOWING of MMA for many years. Nothing to do with the hype dude, just following my instincts as a fighter and fan.

Yeah, Irvin is as slow as a turtle when put next to Anderson. Btw, he isn't gaining 20 lbs!?!?!?!?! Don't you know that fighters are naturally about 15-20 lbs heavier than their actual weight class? They just cut all that weight before the fight. So Anderson will fight at his natural weight.
Silva can punch you from like 6 feet away. He can kick you before you come out of your corner. He can hit you with an elbow from about 3 feet away. But seriously, Irwin better think of how to penetrate this Force Field of Flying Fists and Feet. Irwin's arms are gonna feel like a baseball bat just smacked them when (if) he blocks those high kicks. Anderson is so tall, when he knees you from the clinch, he's only coming up like 6 inches or something. I do want Irwin to win (rooting for the underdog). A flying knee knockout from Irwin would be nice. TRAIN, IRWIN. And learn some major time submissions. Get that lanky Silva leg or arm into a submission and GO FOR BREAKAGE. ...i know that idiot, but he fights at 185 so youre used to his 185 speed...now hes gonna be 20 lbs slower...what dont you get? cutting weight makes you lighter, man some people on this site are so dumb
like some fellow posters mention, anything can happen. but after watching this vid i can definitely see that range is going to play a big factor in the upcoming fight, and i give that advantage (a huge one) to silva. irvine landed some bombs but his range and angles were really weak, something silva excels at.

Silva has the best striking defense in MMA today, period. I've never seen him rocked, ever. Never even seen him hit enough to potentially rock him, because he's too quick and smooth with covering up and head movement. No one even knows how good his chin is, because he just doesn't get hit.
Irvin will have to get close to hit him enough, and as I posted on the other video, technique-wise Silva's clinch is much better. He gives less space to escape and move around, uses a better grip (hand-over-hand instead of gable or fingers laced) and has quicker knee strikes from the clinch.
Irvin's best chance is to use his weight and Greco (not Thai) clinch his way to the ground, but he needs to land in a controlling position. Anderson's guard is too tight to pass most of the time, and he can prevent much damage from GnP.
If Irvin can get Silva against the cage and get underhooks before Silva puts him in the Thai clinch to prevent the takedown, Irvin has a decent chance to take him down into side control and GnP with that weight advantage. Otherwise, Silva by MURDER.
