i love Silva; but Arona won that fight!
Whats happening with Arona theses days anyway?
The guy was one of the world best; he even came to a controversial decision agaisnt Fedor and now noone is talking about him anymore
Arona didn't win that fight dude. He barely tried anything except flop to the ground and pull guard or feetsies as soon as he got into any kind of trouble. He's good at wrangling people around on the mat and looking like he's doing well, but it's a whole lot of nothing. Lots of shuffling, not a lot of dealing. Split decision for Wandy felt right to me. Same with the Fedor fight. Arona seems to neutralize the other fighters' strengths while paralyzing any offense of his own. I'm glad I don't have to watch him do that a lot anymore.

Why did Silva get a yellow card in the 3rd round? Is it because in Pride a yellow card means "reset"?
2nd, at the end of the first video, they show Arona getting Silva in some sort of armbar and Silva spinning out.... Where was this in the fight? Im pretty sure i saw Rnd 1,2,and 3... Please explain
And lastly, Arona did win that fight. He landed some big hits on Silva, whereas Silva was more on the offensive and didnt get as many quality hits on Arona. I thought it would be a draw or at least 9-10, 10-9, 10-9 for Arona. It would be 8-10 first round but Arona came back at the last second to make it a little bit more equal. But anyways, yea...
I never got why this was a split decision. Wanderlei won the fight by a mile, ESPECIALLY with PRIDE's scoring criteria.
For anyone saying they think Arona won, you obviously don't know that the #1 judging criteria in PRIDE is "effort to finish the fight".
Dude, Pride doesn't score by rounds they score the whole fight.
Whoever think Arona won this fight is nuts.
He was getting hurt big time on his feat and whenever wand started to get the better of him he'd flop to the mat and land on his back till the reff stood them up.
He ended up on the bottom just about as many times as he did on top as well and just sat there and held till the reff stood it up.
When he was on top he didnt nearly do as much as compared to what wand did to him standing up.
Arona won this fight.lost the first won the last two. wanderlei also got a yellow card.wtf?? how could he win.
WTF ARona won that fight? Silva won that. all arona wanted to do was go to the ground, very good grappler but no standup game what so ever
