The famous greasing incident, if you've never seen this here is the entire scoop on what happened from mmaontap.com this video has the english translation of Saku complaining to the ref and the after fight commotion.
The result of the New Year’s Eve bout between Kazushi Sakuraba and Yoshihiro Akiyama at K-1 Premium 2006 Dynamite!! has been changed from a TKO win for Akiyama to a no contest after officials found that Sakuraba’s inability to grasp Akiyama was due to a skin moisturizer Akiyama had applied before the bout for cosmetic purposes.
Sakuraba complained to the referee several times during the fight about Akiyama’s skin but nothing was done until after the fight when Sakuraba and his camp filed a formal protest.
There was also some controversy surrounding Akiyama’s gloves which didn’t sport the regulation logo on them. After investigation, officials stated that the logo had simply fallen off and the gloves were regulation size.

Interesting video, I always wondered what happend after Sakuraba fought Yoshihiro.
Its natural for fighters to gain any edge they can whether it be legal or illegal. I hope they'll have another rematch and maybe under better cirumstances.
kind of interesting, but the last half of the video was pure rubbish...
interesting. I just think sakuraba was being a bitch here, I love the guy though
i see this more like a accident
he can have some problem in the skin that can be why he sweat alot,if you are going to fight in tv and you know you sweat alot probably you will tink in use some lotion but of course it make it worst.
about the weird bandage i think it can be some kinda sponge to help him close his hand tight, no body want a break hand in a fight.
what im seying is they try to think smart and it go cheat wrong.
I wouldn't discount Akiyama doing something to his glove, he's been caught cheating in matches before. If I remember correctly something to do with soaking his gi in fabric softener to give it a slippery feel.
MMA gloves these days from any organisation have a stream like look and fit snug on the hand, there was a slight deformity about Akiyama's right glove, no matter how much a beating the glove gets it wouldn't deform that way.
But who knows except for Akiyama right?
so was there a rematch?
"interesting. I just think sakuraba was being a bitch here, I love the guy though"
That's such a stupid comment. Akiyama was cheating, he should know the rules, he is a professional fighter, he gets paid to fight true to the rules and in a sportsman like fashion.
Saku was complaining because Akiyama broke a rule, nothing to be a bitch about.
It's like saying Akiyama used a sledgehammer in the match and Saku would be a bitch for complaining.
No it wouldn't because Akiyama broke a rule. My example may be out of context but still holds a valid point.
jeez I hate stupid comments.
