i think big john didn't do his homework on sakuraba but would the debision be overturned if the fight was outside japan?
i like sakuraba but being a hero in japan and having the fight in japan was a factor
it was a plus that tank got hurt but why weren't there alternate fighters

i love saku, but come on.

ge only fought 2 fights that night to become the tourny winner?

nice arm bar, he just had one leg across the guys chest to lock the arm bar up. this shit looks like a set up.

Well damn, I would hope so-- it's one of the most egregious bad stoppages ever.

If only UFC would use instant replay like that these days...

And PUHLEEZ post that whole fight(s)! It's one of the first UFC's I ever saw and it was just amazing. That tourney is what got me started loving MMA...

This is the biggest mistake that Big John has ever made.

I've almost always agreed with him except this time, and I'm glad Saku got to redeem himself.

It's totally possible to finish an armbar with only one leg across the face. It's amazing how saku out grappled that guy though, because that guy was supposedly a BJJ world champion and was way bigger than Saku.

I was pretty heated when I saw this the first time. Saku beat the 1994 BJJ champion, and he was out weighed.
