Patrick Cote Says He Would Defeat Anderson Silva

Interesting. Cote is very good, but Anderson Silva good, I dunno!

that would be an awesome fight i think, Cote's gotta an awesome chin, but with his ground game he would probably get submitted. interesting fight nun the less.

What is wrong with his voice? Did he have a stroke?

Push the pace? When people like him come up with ridiculous game plans like that I always think of what Mirko Cro Cop said "Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face".

I don't agree with that all the time but Cote's plan is one of those plans that would fall apart once he got hit hard. You can't push the pace when your on the verge of being knocked out unless that is your goal.

I don't really disagree. I love Anderson Silva, think he's amazing, but Dan Henderson could have won against him if the first round had been repeated a few more times. In that fight, he really pushed in the beginning and stayed right on him, but once he got to the second round and was fighting only somewhat hard, Anderson seemed to gain infinite confidence and demolished him

cro cop stole that line from mike tyson and its "everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face."

Not a stroke. He's been cursed with a much worse affliction, being Canadian.

It'd be hard to get too excited for this fight. Henderson has an awesome chin as well, but he only went 1 1/2 rounds.

Cote's been on a bit of winning streak, but it's a pretty big step to go from Andrew McFedries to Anderson Silva.

The UFC should probably just tell GSP to get fatter or Silva to get thinner so they can fight.

He's french; thats called having an accent.

I don't think Cote would do well agaisnt the spider; but it might be a sign of things to come?

Maybe after Okami-Silva fight>

I hate to say this. I love Hendo, but he wasn't exactly beating Silva. He had him on the ground and barely outpointed him for the round, but he wasn't really beating him. He layed on him and didn't land anything.

Unless you're reinforced with steal, a strong chin means nothing against Silva.

Unless you're awesome at wrestling and submission defense (GSP) you don't stand a chance against Silva. Pushing the pace won't cut it because Silva's timing is so good. Duh.

Well let me start off by saying, I am a fan of Cote's. I think that he's a good fighter period. However, lets examine the fact that he probably can't beat either Rich Franklin or Dan Henderson, both of which were destroyed by Silva. Does he have a punchers chance? probably, but so does every fighter in the UFC. So my advice. Cote, why dont you start with the aforementioned Franklin or Henderson, perhaps both then evaluate Silva if you are still alive.

Cheers,

ohh and btw.. Stroke, French? basically the same thing. hahahah

Cote is about 3 straight wins away from a title shot with Anderson, and that's only because everyone else of note in the MW division has already been demolished. Cote is a decent fighter, but he is nowhere the caliber of the Spider. His strikes have power, but he lacks technique. His ground game can't compare with Anderson's and his cardio is untested in a 5 round fight. Silva by TKO rd 2.

i like cote but he can talk big all he wants, but is this the same cote that got ktfo buy chris leben, and is'n this silva he speaks of the same person who destroyed leben (who easily took cote's punchs)?????????

lets not forget the age factor here, silva is 33, that is already becoming old when it comes to fighting.. but he is top noch so i think he probably can take this fight. silva has like 2 or 3 more years at the top, i think he should (mirko, wandy, etc) :( why cant a fighter's live be like a good movie when all ends well? :(
