Looked like an early stoppage, but I wouldn't want to the job of the ref to try and decide that in a split second. So even though on review it looks a little early, I don't think it was necessarily unfair.

the stoppage was ok, karo didnt had any arms up for defense, may be he broke up to early but kro didnt do anyting except getting punshed 4 times.

I thought it was an early stoppage, punches were slipping through but Karo had his arms up and it wasn't like he was trapped and couldn't turn out of it. The knee definitely rocked him, but I don't think that plus the few punches after were enough to stop the fight over. Oh well, it's easy to criticize the refs, much harder to be one. I feel bad for Mazagati for being part of both controversial stoppages, much like Herb Dean was back during Tito vs Shamrock 2.

I think ref made good decision, Karo was out, and didnt defended himself. He recovered quickly only because Thiago stopped punching him.

tough job, but early stop

Ever since Karo made an appearance on TUF I have hated him. I'm from South Florida and I LOVED the outcome.

Maybe stopped a LITTLE early, but karo was done. He would have been hurt and stopped shortly after.

it was a fine stoppage. you cant tell me big john would've ended it later.

Not to say that it would have changed the outcome but that was stopped way too early. No doubt the knee got him seeing stars but the punches following did virtually nothing. 99% of the time a KO/TKO is from a shot(s) to the head, we've all seen someone come back from a flash ko, so when it hits the ground what do you look for before you stop it? I know that when I watch a fight I look for someones head to snap back when they've been hit there. Watch the punches following the knee and you'll see what I mean. The first punch hit him square on the cheek but the next three didn't do any damage. The second grazed his right shoulder, the third grazed the top of his head and the fourth was on his right arm. I think that as a ref in that situation the first thing you should look at is the damage to the head, if I see a guy's head snap back a couple of times after that then I'd stop it, but that's not what happened, instead it's like the ref was counting how many punches were thrown rather than the damage done.

early stoppage. regardless, the minute karo showed up with that spare tire, i had a feeling he was going to be in some trouble. you just can't get away with less than peak fitness...especially at altitude.

true........ when I saw the back fat I thought "dude, hit the gym for once". Thiago was huge. Although I think Steve " the rapist mustache" Masagati needs to hold off on his reffing. One bad call after another. There's just too many to mention. Always early stoppages, too many points for back of the head shots taken away. Don't get me wrong I like clean fights but Steve is just O.T.T..

I'm with LeftoverChef...

Karo's a dick and I was glad to see him eat a knee for lunch and get sat down cross-legged.

I wish the ref WOULD HAVE let it keep going...word on the street is ...Thiago's a pretty good striker... and watching Karo get beat to a pulp would have made my day. (watching him whine like a little bitch about the loss comes in a close second)

Mazagatti Strikes again!!!

He has early stops every EVENT....
He should have let it for a few more sec and see if Karo was OK or not...
I think he was recovering fine...

When you get folded like a baby blanket, stoppage never comes soon enough. How much more did you want to see if the man could take? I love Parisiyan, and to see him go out so soon is disappointing, but better than risking permanent/serious injury. Good call ref.
