I saw it last night and I didn't see much. Mostly interviews with the owners/rappers.
The talent looks exciting (athletic and exposive) but not well rounded.
The coaches don't seem well rounded either. It a ghettofabulous take on MMA.
I hope they show case more of the fighters as time goes along because it could be exciting
I suppose its inevitable that with Michel Vick's dog ring gone these "Celebrity Owners" needed another avenue for their entertainment.
Genius for BET to take the same behaviors and make it legal....

I was kinda diggin it until Floyd Mayweather, AKA Dicksuck Mayweather, AKA Floyd Buttplug, AKA Talks Out Ass Mayweather, got on the screen and started talking about how MMA is cool and he watched it back in the day. Host, please put together a vid with the clip of him talking shit about MMA, and then go right into the clip of him with his tongue up MMA's ass. That guy's ego has gotten so inflated It can't even fit on my computer screen without pissing me off. I think I'll find the clip of Floyd Shitmouth Mayweather talking smack and post it.

Then at 14:00 of this BET video, there he is again, this time tossing MMA's salad. This is some Matt Hughes quality contradiction. That chump may just have ruined that show for me. Yeah I know... I'm bitter.
Lame. The entire show was interviews and the "coaches" and "owners" making lots of noise while sounding completely uninformed about MMA, mixed in with lots of 5-second clips of random fights.
My guess is, all the training is going to be physical buildup, and pretty much no skill training. The fighters are going to have to bring all the skills in, and they'll leave with the same tools they came in with. And the fights are going to be a brutal, messy joke.
Was it just me, or did the MMA "expert" they brought in seem to have no idea what he was talking about? He talked about studying different martial arts all over the world, but never a word about actual MMA competition either as a fighter, judge, referee, etc.
The announcer was annoying as hell too. This show is going to be horrible.

this is about tv ratings, the only diference between this and UFC is that this gives more attention to the entertainment part of the show. i still think its stupid to have all the rapers there, what do they know about fighting anyway? but floyd, as much as i think he is a cocky little man, is the shit when it comes to boxing, anyone saying otherwise is eaither lieing to themselfs or being an hater.

As much as people want to hate the show, it's genius marketing...you take two demographics, and slop them on top of each other, and all of a sudden you have twice the viewership...everybody isn't happy with the product, but at first EVERYBODY is watching. Let me say, I FUCKING HATE BET. I am black, and I think the idea is fucking retarded. This being said, I do recognize that there is a lack of entertainment geared at the black community on the whole, as Hip hop is now geared at anyone with money. It is only natural for blacks to get interested in mma, and this is the way it will probably appeal to "BET watchers", not black people in general. There is a big difference between the "EXCLUSIVELY BET" black person, and a non-racist black person. I think it's hard for white people to understand BET because every other channel except telemundo is geared at the 18-24 white male. I am a 25 year old black male, and I don't like Iron Ring. That's it! That does it! It's official...I'm starting a new TV channel called WET - White Entertainment Television.
And the first program is going to be an all white owned/coached/trained/refereed MMA team tournament. It will take guys with proper, almost uptight, grammatical enunciation that have no fighting background (other than their fight to the top of the corporate ladder) and have them be the owners. The all white coaches will consist of olympic divers, champions of bobsled and speedwalkers. And of course, the dispute settler/referee will be none other than Chuck Norris.

Because this show is not going to be about MMA, it's going to be about sensationalized slams and knockouts. The technical element will not only not be highlighted, it will most certainly be attempted to be avoided!
