man i love this site !! thanks for posting this vid your the best man.

ANDERSON THE SPIDER SILVA =]

Excellent fight. Good first round by Hendo, but Silva shows why he is the best in the world. Fedor, I think, is definitively off his perch as best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. It is Anderson Silva.

Anonymous said...

Who can stop this guy!!! Thanks for the post your the best mma blogger on the net!
What a fight, Silva is just a dominant fighter, he can beat the best at their own game!! GO Anderson!!

Illmatic7980 said...

Sylvia had a good performance, he just proved he's a top notch fighter. Whoever say's he's over rated is an idiot!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

posting the fight in parts like that reveals that it is a two rounder. THAT IS A SPOILER!!!

Anonymous said...

Hendo comes out and lays on Silva for a round. Silva comes out and destroys Hendo in ONE ROUND! The Spider is too crazy. Off the charts, unstoppable.

Thanks for the vid, you're the best.

im sick of people simply stating anderson silva is p4p best fighter in the world as if it were fact

he beat dan henderson, but he lost the first round, which shows he at least isnt better than gsp

when was the last time GSP legitimately lost a round, or was simply outmatched...not talking about random bombs from left field here (matt serra), but outpaced, outstruck, outwrestled etc

gsp = best p4p
anderson silva = top 5

Anonymous said...

The best site ever, you are the man

This is the most dissapointed I have ever been watching a ufc fight I cant believe henderson lost. I hope they fight again some day and dan redeems himself

Anonymous said...

I don't think they can build a machine to stop Anderson Silva.

Anonymous said...

this division is so weak...i love hendo, but he is showing his age. he has looked subpar in his last three outings. silva is still not better than gsp or bj penn. this weight class is not competitive. i wouldn't take much pride in a win over an aging once great fighter. silva still =overrated.

Anonymous said...

Silva is best p4p.

End of discussion.

So by that rationale, we can consider Rampage overrated because he couldn't even FINISH Henderson. Come on now... Silva is NOT overrated. He's not P4P either, but definitely not overrated. End of story.

Much thanks for this. Awesome blog btw!
Wow, Silva just dominated in the 2nd round. I personally thought he'd win but he just made it look so easy.

Thanks for the video.
Silva is definitely the best p4p.(<-----PERIOD)
You can keep saying whatever you want dude... He has proved over and over... if U don't understand facts, get a brain alright.

VALEU ANDERSON! TE AMAMOS!!! Torcida Brasil!

Silva is the best p4p fighter in the world. To the idiot that think GSP would take a win from silva, just watch some of GSP fights. Main problem with GSP is that he DOESNT move his head, the guy would get ko in no time, trust me i know mma.

Posting the fight in parts ruins it a bit, not knwoing when it could end is what it takes away. Would you prefer posting in parts? Or add it in one whole part? Just a suggestion. Anywho thanks loads for posting the fights, this is the only place with no spoilers, huge fan, cant thank you enough. Fuck when will Silva loose? Hes nearly unstoppable.

I love you man, keep up the good work, thank you for all the effort you've put in!

the spider is good but. frank shamrock could take him, dana white wont put the fight together dana .s a momas boy with to much money an dont like frank. till he fights him we wont know ufc/wcw bull

Anonymous said...

There is WAY too much silva nut-hugging going on here. Reminds me of matt hughes' glory days...

Great fighter, of course.

Dominant champion, no doubt.

World class, obviously.

But p4p? C'mon folks. You need to destroy more dominant fighter than dan "wild-right" henderson and rich franklin to get a p4p label(don't get me started on travis lutter...). Fedor's win-record is a who's who list of MMA legends.

Unfortunately, silva isn't in the kind of division that will produce legendary fights.

If he's gonna become the p4p best fighter in the world to someone other than D. White, he'll need to go up or down a class and start brawling.

Anonymous said...

sick fight on both fighters' parts! Silva showed his striking skills from hell, and some nice grappling in this fight. but I think that this fight proves silva can be beat. It comes off like silva can be taken down by the right guy, and the right guy will punch his nose into his head. Too bad this guy doesn't exist :-/ or he's just in the wrong weight class

Anonymous said...

I'm just writing to give one more compliment to you guy... couldn't live without your website.
About the P4P discussion. Without order, overall I would say, Anderson, Fedor and GSP. However Anderson is currently outshining the other two.. the guy eventually is gonna loose(not in a close future) but he has proved to have no opponents in the hole division, in a way that no other fighter did that.. so it's more than straight forward to say that he is best P4P.

Anonymous said...

frank shamrock????? this guy's comment must have been written before internet even existed (UFC 0.1b)...

Anonymous said...

I think the only way he'll be stopped now, is if GSP packs on 15 pounds of muscle.

but fuck, who would want to contend with anderson silva's ridiculously long monkey arms and legs.

-ed

Johnny said...

Time for Anderson to drop weight and fight GSP to see who's the real best P4P fighter.

Or if GSP wins the title, have him gain some weight to fight Silva. I'd think it be easier for GSP to gain some muscle mass.

Anonymous said...

frank shamrock cud take him!! ahhahahahahahahahhahah
thts going to keep me going for days
ahahahahahhah!!!!
in his post fight he sed he doesn't matter going up or dwn in weight so maybe we'll get to see gsp vs silva! but personally i think gsp wud have a hard time, silva is deceptively strong (so is gsp) but silva is a naturally bigger dude i think.

Anonymous said...

As a suggestion, why not as a policy only put the first part of any fight on the main page. Put the other parts under a cut or something. That way, people could start playing the first video (and cover up the progress bar) and they wouldn't know whether there are other videos or how long the video they're watching will last.

If you should always have a cut for every fight, even the 2 minute ones, so that you keep people guessing as to whether there are other videos. Otherwise, if it's e.g. a Youtube video, people will know the fight is 10 minutes maximum.

MMATKO sort of does this, although even they don't do it fully.

Just a suggestion. I love this site.

Regarding the bout, I too am a bit disappointed, in that I wanted Henderson to put up more of a challenge; but Silva proved that his knees are LETHAL WEAPONS, and that his technique deserves the utmost respect. I thought it was a little shitty he didn't tap up w/ Dan, but what can you do?

As for single v. double-posts as 'spoilers,' I mean, depending on the video widget that's being used you're getting a 'spoiler' in the timed length of the video; the Google vid was ~13 mins, and I knew that this fight would be ended in either in 2nd or 3rd round.

You're watching this awesome stuff for free, GET OVER IT! If you want the true excitement of not having any idea about the outcome of the fight, buy it on PPV, otherwise, beggars can't be choosers.

All-in-all, much respect to both Silva and Henderson. Silva may just have to get bigger and move up weight-classes.

Once again, I love your blog!!!

Thank you for posting this much anticipated fight, Richard.

I would like to comment on the debating of the P4P; who cares? Look, all the fanboys need to realize two things about MMA or really any combat at all. First, ANYTHING can and will happen in any fight, I don't care who it is. Second, comparing fighters the way most people do is just silly, its almost as pointless as religious wars (yea, who's god is better? let the gods fight and we'll see who wins!)

GSP or the Spider? Give me a break and go train for yourself, fight, and then lose. Could you imagine having thousands of people paying to watch your ass kicked? then you'll know why fighters cry in the ring and you'll know what your really made of.

Look, I'm not hear to judge, argue, or insult anyone. I am also aware that MMA is not alone as a sport when it comes to armchair critics. Human Nature I suppose. Hopefully we see more fans inspired to learn more about combat in general, which ironically can be a very powerful method of self-discovery and achieving calm under very stressful conditions if trained with good intentions.

If this becomes a post, thank you for reading this and STAY STRONG.

rofl, GSP doesnt move his head because he usually doesnt have to, he moves his body, do you see how he hops around on his toes all the time? he is legendary for his speed and agility, avoiding takedowns and punches

and if he had to fight anderson silva, im sure he would work on avoiding punches and head movement, and he would DEFINITELY outpace anderson silva. Obviously he COULD get caught by an occaisonal KO punch, but if they fought 10 times, i think GSP would win at least 6 of those fights, obviously eliminating weight gap

great fight. both looked great, definitly did not see it ending with a rear naked choke. who cares about "p4p" or whatever..i like to watch fights not suck fighters dicks..mma rules...mma nerds suck.

Anonymous said...

I thought it was a great fight!
I loved the way Silva put Henderson away with RNC.
Kinda ironic after Henderson's cheesy atempts to disrupt Silva's breathing in the 1st rnd lol.

Does anyone have Okami versus Tanner?

Anonymous said...

To the guy who asks when GSP legitimately lost a round, I would like to tell him to go watch round one of the BJ Penn fight where GSP barely survived. In fact, he barely squeaked out that win.

Until GSP can defend his title (if he ever gets it back), there is no possible way you can call him a great fighter. He will always be known as the guy who lost his first title defense to a third rate game show winner.

Anonymous said...

I am a gsp fan but i do recognize he has no head movement.. He really needs some boxing lessons, i am sure he is getting them but his head movement was the reason he got caught by that punch that dropped 10 iq points out of him cortesy of serra. about silva, yeah great champion, still think fedor is better but if fedor doesnt start fighting some real competition we really cant say shit about silva being the best p4p, the guy is a monster, really good in ground and strinking.

Anonymous said...

sherdog thinks silva's stepped up for the best p4p

great post man!

Props to Henderson for hanging in for so long after that one hit!

I've never seen someone so punch-drunk last for so long afterwards. He really kept it together.

Plus 20...or...Minus 15

That's the only way we're going to find out what Silva is really made of. It's obvious that if he stays at 85, it'll be another Hughes-like hey-day era of constant wins. If Silva goes down and beats GSP...and then goes up and beats Rampage...it would officially annoint him the best P4P fighter and an MMA GOD. Until that happens, he's handling the dudes in his (fairly thin) weight class...good for him.

As for the statement he made about considering Rich Franklin his toughest competition...WHAT!?! Did Rich even hit him? Silva completely dismantled him TWICE...and made it look easy!

Silva has no peer at 185.

Gonzo said...

Damn man what a disappointment. Nothing against Silva, but i was really pulling for Henderson on this on. But i don't see anyone else in the 185 devision taking out Silva if Henderson can't...Should be interesting.

Humans are so funny, always needing to rank everything in order. It will never ever work that way. There's always someone that can have an off day, or be a bad matchup, or whatever. I suppose it keeps the masses entertained though, but it's so pointless. Hard to argue against Silva...I've always felt like he and GSP move differently. Almost like animals. GSP sort of floats and moves around so smoothly and quickly. Anderson seems like a hummingbird, he moves left right forward back so easily and quickly. It's weird. They're alien.

PFFFFFTTTTTTTT matt serra third rate show winner, hope he knock's gsp out again or submit em so u'll see. Matt Serra Welter Wieght Champion 08!!!

eh i don't know SILVA P4P to be the best...maybe in the UFC but not of the world. If this keeps up and SILVA has beaten all of the best the UFC has to offer then Mr. Dana should open up to other organizations to see if any other fighter out there wants to take on THE SPIDER, but if DANA doesn't want to do that then he starts to show what many people are saying about FEDOR...that he's the BEST fighter out there but then he's not fighting the best cuz he's just fighting the guys over there. If SILVA has beaten all of the UFC and he says he wants to fight against the best well then lets see who else is out there "out side the UFC".....you know what i mean?....that's what i think....

good analogy...um, not, since hendo fought rampage at 205 lbs. which is what silva should do if he wants to be considered great. he needs to either drop or go up, because this division is weak, weak, weak. so my assessment of overrated is spot on. you can't be considered p4p because you beat rich franklin and an aging dan henderson. try and beat okami and then either drop or go up in weight, beat the best and then you can be called p4p. until then, you are vastly overrated in a weak sauce division.

crazy fricken fight... once he had him in that body triangle.. it was overrr..... THHEEE SPIDDERRR WINS AGAIN !!!!!.. yeaaa bwwwoiiii!!!

Man, I am sick of all you girls crying about "spoilers"! You are watching fights for free! Either come up with the cash and buy the PPV or start your own blog with fight videos so you can post them just the way you like them. We wouldn't want all your little fun to get "spoiled"!

To the guy who runs this blog: Great site man! I love the fact that you get the videos up quickly; they're good quality and the work 99% of the time. The fact that you do it without a lot of ads is great too. I appreciate all your hard work!

"PFFFFFTTTTTTTT matt serra third rate show winner, hope he knock's gsp out again or submit em so u'll see. Matt Serra Welter Wieght Champion 08!!!"

Dude, put the pipe down. Serra chickened out of getting in the cage with Hughes, and he'll either chicken out of his next fight with GSP or get bounced on his head like a basketball. Serra's 15 minutes of fame is almost up.

Anonymous said...

First off not the Dan Anderson I am use to seeing. Second I think Lytle, and Shonan showed that the way to Silva is the ground. His legs are to long and dangerous, take his legs take the fight. I think if Dan fights Anderson again, He definite could lose but it would sure as hell be a little more of a fight. he would do better, he always doea better the second time around.

As far as Serra goes. There is no question he is a skilled fighter has the moxy to be a champ the heart to be a champ, the question is he past his prime. As Anderson showed tonight age can be a factor (sorry Randy). Matt has the tool set the question is can hit fast hit early and hit hard. A less experience fighter in that fight with GSP would have got way to excited and probably had lost. Anderson Silva is a fighter that keeps control and show the accuracy thats needed to put such a fighter like Dan out. The same control Matt showed againest GSP. My two cent

Also Frank Shamrock in his prime.. Maybe. But he isn't and it ain't.

Anonymous said...

i totally agree. i think okami will (and has) given him problems due to his height and his strength. it was sad to see dan get caught the same way rich franklin did twice. hopefully we either see silva v. okami II or see silva drop/gain weight and challenge some serious fighters in thier primes-soon.

MCJ said...

If Silva is P4P #1, does that suggest he must win all fights if he moved up a weight class?--I think so. To confirm this, Silva's next goal should be the Light Heavy Weight belt. Otherwise, "P4P #1" is conjecture, not fact.

Anonymous said...

you people make me sick, everytime a champion comes up and you dont like him for whatever reason (silva is a class act, you should be ashamed of calling yourself a mma fan!) you try to minimize his accomplishments. Well why dont we put GSP or whatever idiot you guys nuthugging at the moment and move him to heavyweight so he can get shot and hopefully with some brain damage huh? IDIOTS! Silva has a medium to small frame, he was pushing it fighting dan, every single one of you know dan is way bigger than silva, silva wins because of his fighting technique and quality! he is the best p4p champion hands down, he deserves respect not hate from stupid imature ignorant fucks! peace..

Anonymous said...

the best P4P fighters are Anderson Silva and Fedor Emelianenko, who are both underestimated. People d'ont realize there stricking power. Right behind them come Georges Saint Pierre and B.J. Penn, both havr what it takes to be there but need a few more recent wins considering they both lost pretty recently.. while silva has a 7 times winning streak and fedor a 24 times winning streak.
so
1)fedor
2)silva
3)saint pierre
