For those who read my article about Mir vs Lesnar I mentioned this fight as maybe a precursor to the Mir Lesnar outcome. Obviously there are many differences in this situation, but I still feel this fight is relevant, being an inexperienced fighter vs a veteren of the sport. Everybody knows Sean Gannon as the only guy to beat Kimbo Slice in a street fight.

man, i hate herb dean. what an absolutely horrible ref.
come on man! Brock is way better than Sean Gannon. Brock's credentials speaks for itself. It's like comparing apples to strawberries. Although Mir is a tough opponent. Tough one to call to be honest.
Well, first, I don't think Gannon is the only guy to beat up Slice. It's Slice's buddies who arrange these fights and video tape them, so I'm sure they destroy the tape after Slice takes a beating. If memory serves me correct, it was one of Gannon's buddies who taped that fight, so that's why we were able to see it.
Having said that, I don't think Lesnar and Gannon are on the same page. Gannon (to the best of my knowledge) was just a tough dude who thought he could bang with the big boys. Lesnar on the other had is an accomplished NCAA wrestler who has put an effort into learning the other disciplines of MMA.
Having said that, Frank Mir is no joke. But, Mir has a lot to prove too. His reign at the top was a number of years ago, and the compition has gotten better. This is a good fight for both guys as each of them has a lot to prove. One guy will keep moving up the rankings, and the other guy will have to go back to the drawing board.
I'm just a little shocked at how quickly Lesnar has gotten his shot in the UFC, and how much they've promoted it.

how can u say the herb dean is a horrible ref?? gannon was trying to cover up, but was laying there and doing nothing while he was taking shots. it's the ref's job to protect the fighters u idiot! besides, i think gannon tapped the same time herb dean stopped it.
