The problem with this fight that any Real MMA Fan or Promotor knew from the beginning Tank would be way too slow to compete with a guy like kimbo.Even the Street Bums fought and challenged Kimbo. Gannon should have been in there fighting Kimbo because at least you know Gannon would train. Kimbo wouldn't stand a change against any real MMA fighter that trains. Tank came in as FAT and SLOW as usual. No head movement, no Guard. This was a rediculous fight that doesn't do any good for Kimbos Cred in the MMA world. God, kimbos training to fight washed up Bums.

I thought tank had a chance there for a second when he started wrestling Kimbo. Had him against the fence and started some dirty boxing but he just doesn't have it anymore.
I think Kimbo is making a real go at trying to train and learn MMA but he still has a way to go before he is ready for a serious fight. He does need his next fight to be against a real challenge so that he can gain some credibility.

Here is a guy that has had only 3 pro fights and your talking about fedor already? wow. Anyway this guy has to start somewhere, I think they are just getting him ready for the bigger fights.
While we don't learn much about Kimbo from this fight, it admittedly was fun to watch him KTFO that old, fat fart Tank. Now it's time to put him in against some real competition.
I'm not a fan of Kimbo. But he still needs a lot more fights, and wins, in his record before he he can be matched up with fighters like Fedor, Gonzaga, Krocop, or any of the top fighters. I just watched a little of Fedor right now cuz I never heard of 'em.... I actually know some ju jitsu 'n muay thai 'n tae kwon do 'n watching that Kimbo fight... His striking is EXCELLENT... He's a better striker than a LOT of the du's I seen in the MMA... But, like a lotta of ya'll said, we gotta see his ground game... Don't doubt him tho' cuz Bas Rutten isn't a joke on the ground 'n I'm sure he's training 'em in preparation....
I didn't think Fedor's knuckle game is as impressive as Kimbo's was so if it stayed at stand up, I think Kimbo would win... But seeing Fedor loves takin' it to the ground 'n is VERY good at it, I think Fedor would probably get the W... But then again, Kimbo's uppercut is VERRRYYY quick 'n powerful 'n he'd have to be careful trying to dip 'n grab for the takedown cuz Kimbo def'nitely has knockout power...

I pretty much don't get involved in others' comments but, in general, to anyone who thinks Kimbo has ANY shot at Fedor... EVER... shame on you. ;-) Fedor is one of the all-time greats who has both technique AND heart.
I think, as another said, Lesnar would be a better test for Kimbo because Lesnar, while not an MMA tactician, is a good wrestler and a ham-fisted battering ram.
If he beats Lesnar, then give him Randelman... then Cro-Cop, then Fedor. Or something LIKE that... but Kimbo is nowhere those guys right now. The only reason this Tank battle had to be fought was to just settle the "brawler" question once and for all.

Slice should have been the one to fight Lesner, seeing as how they're both rookies to MMA. I do think it's very pre-mature to say that Slice is ready for Fedor, but maybe put him against some real comp like Gonzaga who might bang with him for a bit on the stand-up.
A 'real' fighter though could probably easily beat Slice by out-smarting him, like Mir, who would probably easily submit him, not without taking some fierce punches, mind you.

It's pre-mature to say that Slice is ready for Fedor ... silliness ... Fedor is smart enough to submit him, if necessary, if seeing that the standup isn't working--see Lesnar v. Mir. A smart fighter will use alternatives to win, if it becomes apparent that one method of attack isn't working.
Lesnar v. Slice would have been a better match-up for Lesnar's first UFC fight, as they both seem to want to be 'Big Brawler'; but we must remember that these leagues have different fighters under contract, so Elite XC may not currently have a lot of prime fighting talent right now, besides Slice.
Time will tell.

Here's some advice. If you have never heard of Fedor, you don't know much about MMA. And since you don't know much about MMA, then please don't try and give us your opinion on each fighters skills.
EliteXC will never put Kevin Ferguson in the cage with any real competition simply because he makes them too much money for them fighting bums.

People are underestimating Kimbo. I think he has a chance of becoming a very serious MMA fighter, especially with Bas training him. Of course, only time will tell.
It is great that he has moved on from the street fighting, which I always thought was just brutal and gross.
As for the guy who never heard of Fedor; I myself hadn't seen any of his fights until a few weeks ago either (I watched them all in one night--they don't usually last that long) but I had watched UFC 1-60, and all of Cro Cops' and Sakuraba's fights, and a ton more. My point being: It is possible to know a lot without knowing who Fedor is.
For those that want to see a Kimbo fight last longer than a minute just do a search on youtube. There is a fight indoors that lasted close to 10 minutes in which Kimbo loses to a big white guy. At the end Kimbo's gang has to hold off everybody to allow them to help Kimbo out of there.
I have seen these brawlers come and go for 10 years. This guy is a fad. Did you see Tank get him against the fence? A wrestler will slaughter this guy and have him submitted in 10 seconds. He's like Mike Tyson or any other brawler. He's exciting to watch if he gets involved with a brawler, but against a technician he will get his ass kicked over and over. Put him in there with Cabbage or something - that's the only entertainment left out of this guy.

Most mma fighters have a background in some other form of fighting. How well they do in MMA depends on how well they adapt to training other form of fighting. A collage wrestler needs to train striking and submissions to have a chance... a BJJ guy needs to learn some striking and takedowns... etc,etc,etc. Kimbo's background is bare knuckle boxing, and he was pretty good. But now he trains VERY hard with one of the hardest working coaches in the sport, Bas Rutten. Kimbo is doing the appropriate thing by training takedowns and subs as well. Is he getting a little bit of press because of his internet fame? Of course, but just stop all of the bitching and let his future fights do the talking. Then you can say either he was a no good punk, or an A grade fighter.
