HaHA! that has to be one of the funniest fights i've ever seen. I love cyborg's weak shots after the fight is over....poor guy.

This is my favorite fight of all time...glad it finally made the site. It should have been in the top 10 a looong time ago.

except for maybe gomi v. diaz, i've never seen anything close to that. just standing there and letting the other guy have a free high kick... maybe not so high on technical skill, but amazing fight and great heart shown by both guys.

anyone in America who's expecting good things from Cage Rage, i wouldn't hold you're breath, although they have some great fights, the skil level is very low and the production is pathetic, i live in the uk and i've been watching it for years

If I remember correctly, this was a title fight for Light Heavy's...

Watching two musclebound guys swing for the fences and gas themselves with almost no regard for the term MIXED Martial Arts, doesn't really impress me.(Although I have to admit, there was one combination by the champ that was like 3 punches and ended with a stiff knee...that might have been one of the best combinations I've ever seen!)

How do you think the "champ" would fare against Chuck L., V. Silva or Q. Jackson?

"The Champ" is one of the deadliest strikers in the world (anyone who fights K-1 is, but even then Manhoef is among the elites), particularly at his weight. All of his MMA wins are by KO/TKO, but naturally, his ground game is lacking and he's been subbed by Akiyama and Yoon Dong Sik. BTW he vacated his CR title and has primarily been fighting in K-1's MMA promotion for the past couple of years.

As for how would he fare against Chuck, Wand, and Rampage? Well considering that Cyborg is a Chute Boxe fighter with a similarly wild/aggressive style to Wanderlei, I think this fight is a good indication of how that could go. Chuck would, as he has in his many fights against elite strikers (Mezger/Overeem), have to rely on a big counter right to land in order to have a chance against Manhoef. Manhoef's combinations and tenacity are virtually unmatched among MMA strikers. I could even see Chuck shooting on him like he did against Wand in order to minimize damage and score points.

Rampage would be his toughest opponent, as his grappling and takedowns would likely spell disaster for Melvin. That said, Rampage admittedly doesn't care to submit anyone, and if he gave Melvin a chance to stand back up, anything is possible.

As for the guy criticising Cage Rage's production values, they've recently been bought by Elite XC, which has meant improved production and should lead to even better cards. If Cage Rage was so inferior, then why has the UFC made such a concerted effort to host numerous events in the UK over the past year?

Very interesting (to me, anyways) and very exciting. I value the critique on how he would fare against the usual suspects (wandy, chuck, rampage) but I just can't help but think that any of them would outclass Melvin. He is nothing but a bulky striker who just moves straight ahead and he gassed easily. I think the other fighters are just much more experienced and better thinkers in the wring. Comparing Cyborg to Wandy was just a mistake in my opinion. Now that Wandy and Chuck are older, they're not as formidable as they used to be but they're still way more seasoned and dangerous than Melvin, imho.

Both of these fighters are very skilled. When you take as many hard hits like they did you will gas. Trust me a punch in the face can take alot out of a man
