In case anyone missed the comments from hiroshi, Georges St. Pierre has replaced Matt Serra at UFC 79 and will fight Matt Hughes for the interim welterweight title. It will be a 5 round fight. The full story is over at ufc.com or matt-hughes.com.
Wow this fight card just got better in my opinion, even though I was really looking forward to Serra/Hughes. Anytime GSP is fighting all MMA fans win and their first 2 fights were fantastic. They both won one, so this is the rubber match and it should be another great fight, although I think GSP will win again.

this card is looking sooo much better, easily the best card of 2007. GSP vs. Hughes, Chuck vs. Wand, Machida vs. Soku. Very happy that this is going to be a five round fight as well, nothing I'd hate to see more than Hughes trying to lay on top of GSP for 2 rounds to win.
WOOO!!
I know Fitch fans won't like it, but IMO you couldn't have asked for a better solution to this one.
WAR GSP!!
geoffrey,
you have nothing better to do then to be the first one posting here consistantly.
lol keep posting you loner
im frustrated that sera gets to hold onto the belt for so long, but i think this match is more even now.
Just shows that Matt Hughes is a true champion. Doesn't duck guys, and is ready to fight who ever and when ever. GSP ducked him twice in the past, but good for him to step up and take this fight. This is why matt is going to the Hall of Fame.
Man, this UFC is gonna be the shit. I know a kid that thinks Chuck is gonna beat Wanderlei...riiight
Anonymous-It's call RSS, quite useful really =D
My only worry is that GSP only has 5 weeks to train. Otherwise this really works into his favor. He gets a crack at Hughes and the interim belt, and then he can avenge with Serra once Serra's healthy. Of course beating Hughes is never a given, but my money is on GSP. How do you strategize against a guy like GSP? He's so damned weirdly athletic and quick.
Vive le Canada!
this is going to be my first ppv buy for sure, gonna have to see these great fights live! Thanks again for all the videos man.
I have a theory developing that GSP buckles under pressure. His only two losses were in the first rounds of championship fights. In both, he looked off his game, like his mind was elsewhere. He managed to pull out a great fight against Hughes the second time though, so I could be way off here. I guess we'll see if he gives a solid performance the 29th. I'm hoping he does.
