Sean Sherk vs Georges St. Pierre Video- Rush Takes on the Muscle Shark

This fight is from UFC 56 and you can tell by the announcer's reactions that the fight didn't go like they were expecting. Sherk was supposed to the one outwrestling Pierre, but as you'll see Pierre just dominates most of the grappling and stuffs Sherk's takedowns. Pierre has some great takedowns of his own in this fight. This is the fight(and the BJ Penn fight after this one) that sent him on his way to face Hughes for the title and as we know he certainly didn't dissapoint.

wow, GSP DESTROYWNED him.

a well rounded fighter like GSP, who isn't necessarily super good at a single discipline, owns a guy like sherk, who is a bona fide, practically pure wrestler. i lol'd.

also, i wish GSP threw some judo throws and definitely some more knees.

I'm curious if this was the fight that sent the Muscle Jerk down to 55???

On another note...Damn, that Canadian is good! (did you see what he did Mayhem Miller?...sent him to 85)

GSP has too good takedown defense, and the only chance Sherk had was to get on top of GSP.

I look forward to a GSP vs Hughes or GSP vs Serra matchup more than the Serra vs Hughes matchup.

Sidenote: I wanted to see Fedor take on Crocop again, or Mark Hunt (still possible?), or some new blood like Arlovski, Gonzaga, Sylvia, Kongo, or maybe Brock Lesnar depending on how he does. Throw in Coulture too.

sean sherk even shouted to stop the fight... if you listen to the fight you could hear him in pain when that big elbow landed on his noise.

Watching all these fights with GSP, really makes me wonder what happened against Serra, and why he isn't a perennial top 5 pound for pound on most lists. He's the whole package. Entertaining, humble, athletic. I'd love to see his athleticism against the natural fight instincts of Spida. GSP would probably take it to the ground.

he lost cause he was not able to come back from being stunned near the back of the head by a heaqvy hander like serra. GSP klooked dizzy and wobbly. try getting a heavy hook near the back of your brain and you'll probably get fuzzy vision.

Da Spida is in the 185 weight class, while GSP is in the 170.

After lookin at the fight with Sera it does appear that he was struck in the back of the head when he got stung. I hope Sera does beat Hughes (as unlucky as that is to happen) dat way GSP can show Serra up, 9 out of 10 times GSP beats Serra
