Gray Maynard vs Rob Emerson- Double Knockout

Hey everyone, well I hope everyone watched the Bears vs Broncos yesterday, that was an amazing football game with my Bears pulling it out in overtime with Rex Grossman actually playing great in the last 10 minutes and Devin Hester returning a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns. Anyways back to MMA, this fight from the Tuf 5 finale has a crazy ending and was eventually called a no contest, many people believe that was the wrong call because Emerson is seen tapping out. Judge for yourself.

I think the argument is that the knockout had already happened, so the fight was already over, so tapping was irrelevant.

It's a CRIME to post this fight without the post fight interview.

In this same vein it might be fun to post Lindland v Vitale from UFC 43. Not a request per se, but it might be floating around out there.

I know I was watching this fight hoping the post-fight interview would be on it, no luck. I just looked around for it but cant find a working one. There are interviews after the fact, but you're right the Rogan interview after the fight was priceless. If anybody knows a link to it, let me know.

can someone clarify for me? the match was called a draw, but big john didn't even look at gray when he stopped the fight, which means i dont think big john knew gray knocked himself out. so do the judges go back and look at a replay or something?

it was steve mazzagatti

hughes fight with carlos newton should have been declared a draw as well.

The fight was stopped, the decision is not rendered until the ref holds up the hand at the end. It was stopped for the the tap but some combination of the doctor and the ref looked at gray afterwards and decided he had been knocked unconscious. It's possible they saw a jumbotron replay, but technically that shouldn't have factored in.

This has nothing to do with the fight but...

Robert Emerson is a scumbag. He used to belong to a gang called the Lords of South County who would go around beating up innocent people for fun. In fact, he was convicted for almost beating 2 teens to death along with like 11 of his buddies. It was 12 on 1 and had no motivation. The 2 kids just stopped for gas. Emerson wasn't just in the gang, he was one of the leaders.

Just thought I'd point out what kind of guy he is. Anytime you want to say he's a tough guy or whatever, just think about the time he needed 11 of his buddies to nearly beat 2 kids to death for no reason.

I believe he's currently doing time for some other assault now.
