By the way, my new blog Ultimate MMA News, I thought I could write an article evryday, but I can't, so I'll update it as often as I can.
I started a wrestling video blog, all the classic pro wrestling matches. I haven't watched wrestling in a while but I still like the classic matches. GSP won. i remember watching this fight and counting all of the hits each other took. gsp looks more damaged, but he won in the points system.
Why do you guys think BJ won?
I love both fighters but it seem obvious to me that GSP clearly won.
The first round was close; still i give it to BJ for making GSP bleed; The second and third rounds were all GSP, he took down BJ at will and even have about 3 slams. All that unanswered by BJ.
BJ was not able to take GSP down at all during the entire fight.
God americans are rude, talk about blood lust.

I think GSP clearly won the last two rounds as well, whilst BJ brutalized him in the first.
It would have been more arguable if it was PRIDE rules where they judged the entire fight (look at GSP at their faces at the end of the fight, for example). But no, UFC rules, GSP took the last two.

GSP won that. I don't know why anyone would think BJ won. I'm a fan of both fighters. BJ obviously won the first, the second was close but it was to GSP and the third was obviously to GSP he dominated the third one. BJ was GASSED. GSP won, he has A LOT of heart, to keep fighting like that. Not many fighters can turn around a match like that. You have to credit GSP for the win
Typical behavoir by both of them post fight. GSP took booing like a champ and responded thoughtfully and maturely. Penn refused to admit he had been bettered. I love both while they're fighting but outside the ring, GSP acts like and athlete while Penn acts like a schoolyard bully.

if your judging by face, BJ won. If your judging by score, shots, take downs, GSP won.
GSP is was right, they had played it Canada vs USA, but things are different now and GSP has won over every one
I think GSP won, but it was a very close fight.
If BJ had gotten that take down in the 3rd round and added some more damage to GSP's face, he might have taken round 3, and swung the split decision to his way.
GSP won this fight, he has a lot of shots, take downs, very agressive, a lot of strongs kicks in the legs
only blood not necessary for won or loose a fight, score and hits are importants for the rules
I just love GSP's peace-loving warrior attitude. He was being booed intensly and he stated to the world that "I love all my fans no matter who they are" and the place just flipped out and started cheering! Who can do that? Wouldn't it be nice if our politicians acted like that? Even after hand-to-hand combat?
Oh yeah, the fight. Well I agree with the tone of these comments; BJ Penn won the first round and fucked his face up (which GSP thanked him for!). Round two and three belong to GSP. Points wise I believe GSP won, but he did bleed a bit so I guess we need a REMATCH. Think that will happen?
It's pretty simple: if you saw two guys fight for 15 minutes like this you'd say BJ kicked his ass for awhile and then Georges subdued him with takedowns the rest of the way and the fight fizzled out. The TDs served mainly to avoid further damage from a fighting-perspective but helped out from a scoring-perspective. Personally I think that a TD should precipitate a beating if it is going to be scored as a productive offensive attack, and it still doesn't sit well with me that BJ lost without a mark on him. Georges deserved the decision but he still got his ass kicked.
