This is a great fight with Wandy fighting a man much bigger than him. I really believe he won this fight, obviously he did too. He took the big man down whenever he wanted. He did get rocked, but he recovered quickly enough to regain the momentum. Another great fight by a great fighter. I do like Mark Hunt though and his fight with Fedor was amazing, first time ive ever seen Fedor side mounted.

I think Silva won it too...
Nah it looked to me that Hunt overpowered him. Silva was able to take him down a couple times. But got punched a ton of times and got knocked down. He even sumo dropped on him.

wanderlei clearly won a difficult fight 70 pounds is a big difference and wanderlei showed why he is one of the best mma stars by taking the shots recovering adapting his game plan to neutralise the big fat fucker and put him on his back
Go to his gym and call him a fat fucker, this is a fighting championship, not a beauty pageant, and if you'll notice Fedor isn't exactly skinny, but he'd knock your nose through the back of your skull if you dared to insult one of his fighting brothers. fkoff phag
I think Hunt won a close fight by inflicting much more damage. He also took some thunder away from Wand's takedowns and superior positioning by not letting Silva inlflict damage while on top, and reversing Silva twice while he was mounted. One of those mounted positions should have been the end for Hunt, when Silva had him in a tight key lock, but Hunt threw him over like a kid, and started pounding on Silva.
The bottom line is that Silva had four takedowns,and one legit. submission attempt that was spectacularly reversed, since Wand had great position. When Wand was on top, which counts for some points, he could do no damage to Hunt. If you are arguably the baddest fighter on the planet, and taking on a guy who's fighting on 3 days notice, you should be able to at least inflict major damage while in the mount position 3 times.
On the other hand, Mark Hunt is 70 lbs heavier, and a better striker than even Silva
All in all it was a close fight, but Hunt edged it out by inflicting more damage, negating Silva's offense, even while mounted.

mark hunt hass fought heavier oponents... plus was still neww to mma in this fight. i say the fight should have been a draw, as wanderlei controled most of the fight, but hunt inflicted most of the damage..
Mark Hunt won the fight Both are great fighters Just because Hunt is 70 pounds over weight but is new to mma If Silva was that good he should of done more damage.

To those of you "not impressed" by Hunt, you're out of your minds. This was one of his first MMA fights. He won the K-1 World Title, something NO NONE EUROPEAN HAD EVER DONE BEFORE HIM. Hunt has destroyed Cro Cop in MMA and would do it again. He has almost finished Fedor with a Kimura and has will continue to improve his MMA game.
I'm thinking that if this had been UFC, it would have been rounds 1 and 3 to silva making him the winner
I think Mark Hunt may have taken the fight by that round one atomic butt drop. J/K Wanderlei won in my book.
Silva won the fight, but lost the decision. silva was more aggresive and almost every attempt to bring hunt down worked.. and for justice, silva didnt take him down a "couple" times, in fact he took him down about 6 times. sure when u got a fat ass like hunt a swing of your arm is going to knock you off balance, which is what he did, cuz silva CLEARLY was NOT hurt, nor dazed. its already been established he went toe to toe with hunt why u think it went to decision? he survived all three rounds like nothing..
